Breaking Out of the Windows 7 Boot Loop


 The following recommendations/solutions could save you the headache when faced by a repeated boot loop encountered sometimes on the windows 7 operating system and could possibly work for older versions(Vista) and subsequently released windows versions. The reported issue sometimes occur due to corrupted windows files/malicious software.

Tools needed:
1. A working DVD Drive
2. A Windows Installer/Repair Disk (DVD)
3. A Recovery partition, where a repair disk may be lacking
4. Average/fair understanding of computers

Follow this easy steps:

*In my case it was a corrupted winload.exe (Windows Boot Loader is a small piece of software, called a system loader, that's started by BOOTMGR, the boot manager used in Windows 8, Windows 7, and Windows Vista operating systems. The job of winload.exe is to load ntoskrnl.exe, which is a core part of Windows.) 

 Fix: I located a clean version of winload.exe from "x:winsxs" and replaced both "winresume.exe" and "winload.exe"(winresume.exe is part of Microsoft® Windows® Operating System and developed by Microsoft Corporation to bring your computer out of hibernation). it isn't necessary to replace both files but could save the need to go back and forth just in case both system files have ended up corrupted. the target locations are; C:windows/system32 & C:windows/system32/boot, with those in the boot repair directories(X:winsxs)...another file to look out for is the XML file(Extensive mark-up language file); pending.xml which kept on executing on every boot leading to a continuous and never ending boot sequence. Hopefully by following these tips carefully you should be able to self fix/repair your windows-PC. other known methods would be published on subsequent posts.

 N.B The Target directory could be different from yours dependent on where your window files have been installed/loaded to.
